Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are & scope

These Terms govern the managed storage services provided by Perk Annex Enterprises Private Limited, operating as "Bylox" ("Bylox", "we", "us"), to you ("the Customer"). Our registered office is at Plot No. 85 & 88, Manju Residency, Flat No. 201, Sardar Patel Nagar, Nizampet X Road, Kukatpally, Hyderabad, Telangana 500085; our Corporate Identification Number (CIN) is U52590TG2012PTC083588 and our GSTIN is 36AAGCP8390M1ZO. By booking a pickup or storing items with us, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Bylox provides collection, inventory, secure storage, and retrieval of boxes and wallets of documents and items. We act as a bailee of your goods under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.

2. Booking, screening call & part payment

A booking request submitted through our website or app is not confirmed, and no pickup slot is scheduled, until: (a) our team completes a screening call with you to confirm your order details and suitability for the plan you've selected, and (b) you pay the part payment (deposit) we request at that stage.

Your part payment is credited to your Bylox Account Credit balance as soon as it's paid, and is applied automatically against your first invoice. If your order doesn't go ahead for any reason, the deposit is refunded to you, either as Account Credit or, on request, back to your original payment method.

3. Storage as a bailee & standard of care

As bailee we will take the degree of care that a person of ordinary prudence would take of their own goods of the same bulk, quality and value (Sections 151-152, Indian Contract Act, 1872).

Bylox is not an insurer of your goods. We are liable only for loss or damage caused by our failure to meet the standard of care above, subject to the liability cap in clause 10.

4. Prohibited items (Customer warranty)

Your box or wallet is sealed at pickup and Bylox does not open it except under the consent-gated digitization or destruction process described in clause 7, or where you request the item back. This restriction protects you as much as us: Bylox is a custodian of what is important to you, not of instruments a stranger could exploit. Business, legal, and client records stored under professional custody remain welcome; what follows targets sole originals whose loss or misuse could harm you. You warrant that your box or wallet does not contain any of the following, and you indemnify Bylox against any loss, claim, fine, or liability arising from their storage:

  • Cash, gold, jewellery, bullion, or negotiable instruments
  • Original property, title, or ownership documents — such as a sale deed or share certificate — whose sole original a third party could misuse; store a certified copy with us instead
  • Sole irreplaceable originals for which you keep no copy (not accepted under any Bylox plan, including Vault)
  • Hazardous, flammable, perishable, or living things
  • Illegal items, contraband, weapons, or proceeds of crime

5. Identity verification

We verify your identity at every visit, logged against that specific visit as part of your permanent record. At pickup, a mobile OTP (your handover PIN) must match before we begin, and the visit is recorded on a body-worn camera. Before we hand stored items back to you, our field team additionally checks a government photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, passport, voter ID, or driving licence) or compares you against the reference photo on your account. We will not complete a handover without these checks passing.

6. Pickup, inventory, chain of custody & item log

At pickup, each box or wallet is sealed, QR-tagged, photographed, and added to your digital inventory. Every scan of the barcode (at intake, on shelving, and at every subsequent movement through our facility) is logged and visible in your customer portal alongside the item's photo history.

You, our staff, or both may add notes, photos, or videos to an item's activity log at any time. Entries marked visible to you appear in your customer portal, and you may edit or delete your own entries on the same day you add them.

You are responsible for the accuracy of any contents manifest you provide, and for the prohibited-items warranty in clause 4.

7. Digitization, destruction, courier & consent process

Digitization is available for sealed Bylox Wallet items only: never Bylox Box or Bylox Bag, and never Bylox Vault, whose entire premise is that Bylox never opens the sealed wallet.

Opening a wallet for digitization, or destroying any stored item (including a combined digitize-and-destroy request), requires two-factor consent: the MPIN you set on your account, and a one-time passcode we send to your registered email when you raise the request. Five incorrect attempts on either factor cancels the request, and an unactioned request expires after 7 days; either way, it must be raised again. The process is photologged end to end, and computer screens used for scanning are under monitoring to prevent unauthorised copying.

You may also ask us to send a stored item to you or a nominated third party by courier, or raise a custom request for anything else not listed here. Neither requires the two-factor consent above, since nothing is opened or destroyed.

Locally captured scan files are deleted immediately after upload to secure storage; only the securely stored copy is retained, subject to clause 15.

8. Retrieval, return & fees

Retrieval, priority/same-day retrieval, secure destruction, courier dispatch, scan-on-demand, and any custom request are chargeable. Each is quoted or priced to you before we proceed, either from the rates published on our Pricing page, or as a price our team enters after reviewing your specific request.

Standard retrieval is next-business-day in-city. We will return items only to you or an authorised recipient you have nominated, against the identity verification in clause 5.

9. Account Credit

Bylox maintains an Account Credit balance for you. It can include: the part payment from clause 2, the unused portion of a month you've already paid for when an item's billing changes mid-cycle, cash our field team collects from you on our behalf, and goodwill credits we issue at our discretion. Credit is applied automatically against your future invoices and is visible in your billing history at any time.

10. Liability cap, declared value & insurance

Except in cases of our proven negligence, our total liability for any box is capped at the lower of the declared value or ₹10,000 per box. We exclude liability for consequential, indirect, or sentimental loss.

Where a seal is found broken, or an item is missing, at any custody handover that is attributable to our error, Bylox will pay compensation of 10× the item's monthly storage charge, on any plan (Bag, Box, Wallet, or Vault), in place of the general cap above.

Bylox is not liable for loss or damage caused by accidents, natural disasters, or other events beyond our reasonable control.

Bylox does not currently hold a third-party goods-in-trust insurance policy. The compensation in this clause is paid directly by Bylox, not by an insurer. You may declare a higher value for a box and pay for enhanced cover, which raises Bylox's own compensation commitment for that box up to the declared value.

11. Delivery charges

Delivery is free when your pickup or return is scheduled ahead of time. A delivery charge applies only to an express (same or next-day) visit, shown before you pay and on your invoice. The express charge scales with the size of your order — starting at ₹250, at the rates published on our Pricing page — and a sufficiently large order may reduce the express charge to nil. Our field team may further reduce this amount for a specific visit. Any adjustment is recorded against your order. GST applies to delivery as it does to other charges, and is calculated on your final amount at the time of payment.

12. Fees, GST, billing cycle & non-payment

All fees, including the one-time packaging fee charged at pickup (priced by how each item is packed — from a full protective box down to simply zip-locking your own bag), attract 18% GST. Each order is billed either monthly (in 30-day cycles) or by the day, as you choose when you book. On a monthly order, storage is sold in 30-day blocks: the first 30 days are charged at pickup, and each further 30-day period is billed in advance on that item's own renewal date, counted from your pickup — there is no calendar-month alignment and no proration. If you retrieve items part-way through a paid 30-day period, billing simply stops going forward; part-periods are not refunded. On a daily order, only the one-time fees are charged at pickup, and storage (the number of days held × the daily rate) is settled when you retrieve; a daily order left in storage beyond 30 days converts to 30-day-cycle billing thereafter. Service requests under clause 7 and 8 are invoiced once priced.

If fees remain unpaid, Bylox has a particular lien over the goods for the unpaid charges (Section 170, Indian Contract Act, 1872). We follow a graduated non-payment process (reminders, then a formal notice) and will continue safe custody during any genuine dispute. We will never auction or blind-dispose of personal documents; disposal, where lawful, occurs only after documented notice and a long grace period.

13. Confidentiality

Bylox treats your stored materials as confidential, handles them under defined processes with vetted staff, and will not disclose your identity or the nature of your stored items without your consent, except as required by law.

14. Transit

Doorstep pickup and return involve transporting your goods. Standard transit is covered by Bylox's own compensation commitment under clause 10, not a third-party insurance policy. For items you declare at a higher value, a premium secure-transport option is available.

15. Data storage & security

Digitized copies are stored in encrypted cloud storage on servers located in Hyderabad, India. Files are never exposed by public or direct link; access is only through short-lived, authenticated links issued to you or an authorised Bylox staff member. Bylox does not access or use your stored data other than to operate the service and fulfil your requests.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at our registered office.
